I Did It – Wilson in My Bag

Philipp is co-founder of Nineteen and has been active in the golf industry for years.

He travels the world for Nineteen, offering insights not just from the fairways but also from kitchens and cellars, where culinary craft and wine become culture.

Since the start of this season, I’ve been playing a complete set of Wilson clubs – from driver to wedges. The decision was made in late autumn 2024 at the Wilson Invitational in Germany. Between test swings, conversations with developers and honest discussions about materials and philosophy, it became clear: Wilson is far more than the underrated (iron) classic that many in Switzerland still take it for.

Today, the brand stands for a consistently professional line-up that can also meet every need through individual fitting. The Dynapower Carbon Driver, the fairway woods and hybrids launched in spring 2025, and the Dynapower Forged iron set show just how much precision and innovative strength this traditional brand holds. Rounded out by the Staff Model ZM wedges, the result is a setup that sits seamlessly alongside the other brands.

On the course, trust is what counts. Distance was never my thing – control was. Our Nineteen rounds rarely take us round the same course twice, and often over demanding layouts. That’s exactly where this equipment convinces: the Dynapower Forged irons deliver consistent distance control and a feel perfectly balanced between blade and game-improvement. The Dynapower Carbon Driver stays stable even on a less-than-ideal strike, reduces spin, and produces flat, roll-heavy ball flights with clear acoustic feedback.

The first big test came in spring 2025 on the courses of South Africa – Fancourt, Pinnacle Point, Mossel Bay, Oubaai, Pezula. Demanding, windy, honest. The setup worked from the very first tee shot. The new Triad balls, with their rich energy transfer, fitted perfectly into the system. Only the hybrids needed some getting used to – then they became indispensable.

My conclusion after one season: Dynapower stands for technology with character – precise, reliable, honest. And I’m certain we’ll see more Wilson clubs in the bags of ambitious golfers in future, if golfers give Wilson a chance.
